No problem @ all. Try XHTML; it's fun. You can parse, manipulate, 
generate, and author it with XML tools&technologies like XML Spy, XSLT, 
DOM, etc. You could probably generate it with some XML libs of Perl, 
like you could do (or are doing(?)) with SVG.

Could you do me a favour a check if

works with all your major/popular browsers?
