Today, http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-css-device-adapt-20110915/ has been published as the first public working draft of the CSS Device Adaptation Module. This specification provides a way for an author to specify, in CSS, the size, zoom factor, and orientation of the viewport that is used as the base for the initial containing block. It is a CSS replacement for the proprietary HTML meta viewport tag. The CSS working group welcomes comments on this specification. The preferred place for them is this mailing list, <www-style@w3.org>. Please start the subject line of your message with [css-device-adaptation]. Please start a new thread for each topic/issue rather than responding to this one.
