Not particularly.  I just published an ED of Variables.  I'd prefer
not to add much to it, saving the majority of feature requests for
level 2, but it's possible to add smallish features like default
values.

We need default values if we want to merge with the SVG Parameters
proposal as well, for similar reasons.
