Because, like so many discussion, it very rapidly
drifted from the topic of the original post.

Perhaps in some future "ideal world", we will have
intelligent mailers (and intelligent news clients)
that automatically sense a drift of topic and
automatically route messages to a more appropriate
list or newsgroup ...
