Adobe is very active in the CSS community.

CNN is represented by the same people who represent Netscape (ah, the wonders of 
large company mergers), who are also very active in the CSS community. Indeed, 
one of the CNN representatives has posted in this very thread.

People representing companies don't tend to advertise this fact when posting on 
public mailing lists because of the legal hassle of being held responsible for 
what they say. That should explain why you don't think some of these companies 
are involved when, in fact, they are key players.
