I got the download from sourceforge.

When you say "the machine referred to by the secondary DNS at",
are you saying that www.opencyc.org is down?
I was able to access just now, which looks like it is www.cyc.com.

  There's a standard alias of http://sf.net/projects/foo/ to get to the
  page for a project, so http://sf.net/projects/opencyc/ should get you
  to a state of being able to subscribe to lists and download releases.
