a request for help

i'm looking to build a simple thesaurus of equivalent terms in RDF or
DAML+OIL. what i need is an input mechanism for creating the data and
a system for querying the data and returning results.

a requirement is that querying for one equivalent term should return
all other equivalent terms. in addition, i should be able to launch a
search from an external application and have the results returned to
an external application for further processing. i'm not particular
whether this capability is achieved over the network or by a more
tight coupling of the two systems. (i should add that i'm primarily
interested in unix-based systems, which i consider as including
linux.)

in looking at www.daml.org, to which i turned after concentrating on
pure RDF because the DAML site seems to be making a whole-hearted
attempt at documentation, which is appreciated, nothing leaps out at
me, hence this request for help.
