As a follow-up from the SIMILE telecon 2 weeks ago, I'm forwarding various information regarding VIAF (Virtual Information Authority File) with permissions and cc'ing Barbara who can provide any additional information on this work. 1) Barbara's presentation on VIAF (presented in Rome last Nov. and similar versions previously in Hong Kong, Beijing, Stavanger, Norway, etc.) about the idea of the VIAF being a building block for the Semantic Web.
