Urge approval of draft policy

I urge W3C to adopt the draft patent policy because it's the best
compromise that can reasonably be obtained.

While I object to software patents as being counter-productive for the
industry and the state-of-the-art, and in general to the current
situation where patents (software and otherwise) are freely granted for
ideas which are obvious and/or not original, I believe that this larger
problem is simply outside of the scope of W3C's influence.

This compromise should promote the further development and
implementation of W3C standards (hey, they help me make a living!).

Sincerely,

Alexander M. Jacques
