comment on patent policy

Dear Sir or Madam,

As a software developer who believes that open exchange and freedom should
be pormoted in standards, I urge that the patent policy be amended to
prohibit the imposition of "field of use" restrictions on patent claims
contributed to W3C standards.

I believe that standards should be open to all people, without limitation
or discrimination.
