"The W3C was created to lead the Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability" I don't believe patented technology is compatible with the stated goal of the W3C. I am also concerned that the RAND license will prevent free software - Linux, BSD Mozilla, etc. - from complying with W3C standards. Sincerely, Bill Hackett
