pateneted IP standards

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a fee based proccess be considered as a
standard. If a compnay that has the TM/PAtent/IP of the standard could make
it available royalty free so be it, but to force the industry to pay homage
to aparticular vendor is sillyt, and I can point to 1394 as a perfect
example. It is a MUCH BETTER standard but has failed to be implemented due
to licensing charges. Onbly a SONY or APPLE machine will come with 1394
native, and the rest of the insudtry is STILL USING USB, a MUCH SLOWER but
FREE standard.

time and have the time of your life.
