W3C Patent Policy

While the industry (at least a big part) is moving towards open standards
and free software the W3C which till now stood for open standards and new
inventions (think XML, SOAP, ...) is now thinking about going in the
opposite direction.

_this is bad_.

I suggest on extending this review period and making an open discussion. -
Till now this list is full of "don't do this" mails. - Where are the people
who _want_ this?

I hope you'll do the right thing. - If you don't the open web built on open
standards and interoperability will be _HISTORY_ and will fork into multiple
incompatible versions.
