This sort of change sounds like it will disadvantage a significant portion of the web developer and user communities. I don't feel that adequate time or exposure has been given to this issue to get meaningful comments. Although the comments mailing list was openned on 10th August (according to the archives), there was only a single relevant post to the list in August (the remaining ones being being spams or the initial welcome message). For September, the first non spam message was on the 20th, with the majority of posts being after the 27th. Given the lack of publicity, this call for comments is a bit of a sham. James Henstridge.
