There have been a lot of well thought out comments posted in opposition to the W3C RAND proposal and rather than repeat them, I'd just like to add one more voice in opposition to RAND. Standards must be kept freely available. If the W3C stops requiring freely available standards, some other organization will need to take the W3C's place. R.
