I agree wholeheartedly.

The proposal has some merit but the downside is too horrendous to
contemplate, as I wrote here:

But the threat to libre/free software doesn't stop the this RAND/patent
proposal, Eric I'm wondering what you make of the SSSCA bill in the US?
