Corporations are (mis)using copyright as a way of policing our thoughts. What about patents based on software 'designed' through the use of genetic algorithms. Another sequencing gold rush! We rely on software tools to support problem solving as individuals and in groups. Many of these tools have been developed by the users of existing systems building on the work of previous users. It's not right that at anytime some corporation can come along and patent the logical next step in the train of our thoughts and by this means stop or slow down progress.
