W3C patents proposal

Dear Sirs,

I am opposed to the recent proposal to allow W3C standards to include
patented technology under the RAND conditions.
I would strongly recommend that the W3C's endorsement only apply to
royalty-free technologies.

Rather than include my own comments here, I would to add support to the
comments of the following people (among many of your respondents on this
issue):
