Of course, all of us here at the university level believe the internet exists for the free sharing of knowledge. Any attempt to charge for something as simple as graphics on a site, in addition to the enormous server costs most of us who run a private site endure would be harmful to the growth and usefulness of the internet. If you really want most of us to go back to using newsgroups to share information, then we will. There will always be alternatives if the fees are put in place, and that is what will happen if this law is passed. You will drive people to the underground, and while most of us would prefer not to, we will to share information and knowledge the way the internet is meant to be used. Sincerely, Daniel W. Mordan
