Patents will break Internet

Hi,

I can't believe that the W3C could restrict the use of their standards
by licensing them a way or another.

All standard should remain free to use but also to implement.

Open-source and Free software have now aquired a very large audience
from the public and this is a necessary piece to spread out new and good
de-facto standards.

Closing access to standard will break the Internet into two worlds : 
the commercial one with big companies (or even just one...) each
defending their own standard and such falling back to ages of
incompatibility.
and the free world, with their own free standards.
The two worlds would increasingly become incompatible.

This will force custumers to stick with their software editor because X
products will no longer interoperate with Y products.
This will increase TCO on both client and server sides.


Leave Standards Free !
