I'm sorry. I can't accept your patch. You seem to have patched an old
version of HTFTP.c, maybe the one that was distributed with libwww 5.2.8.

The module has changed since then and has some support for PUT (from looking
at the source code). 

Could you try getting the latest version out from CVS and then see if
which of your patches are necessary? I'm not familiar with this part of

Also, another problem with the patches you sent is that you changed other
things besides your patch. The comments you put did allow me to find what
changed, but it complicated my diff. Some of these things were the realigning
of the comments, adding returns, personal comments, ... nothing serious,
but it takes more time to go thru the patch.
