selction lists with many fields

Hi, 
Can anyone tell me of any examples where selection lists with many fields may 
have been implemented? I need a list that displays an item that can be 
selected and related info on the same line. So each row has four items. I'd 
like these to line up to have a table kinda look. The entire row or the first 
item in the a should be selectable. 
Also, what does the MD attribute of a SELECT tag do?
