Please define work:

Be valid? No.

Validate in actual validators? No.

Work in all browsers? Probably not.

Work in some browsers. Probably.

The same set of answers apply to almost anything you might ask on
incorrect HTML. Some browser will display as you want. Some will display
as you don't. Validators will complain. If all you want is to know about
some finite set of browser: *just try them*.
