Q: Should future extensions like the suggested one be handled by only one
mechanism (HTML attribute *or* CSS1 property), or will CSS1 mirror HTML
attributes and vice versa ?
Both are nearly disjunct layout models for HTML, so if some of it lacks
features of the other this would increase confusion. The other way round,
if every CSS1 property is reflected by an HTML attribute, the current
'attributitis' will never stop. Vicious cycle ?!
