This is definitely a step in the right direction, but unless I'm
mistaken, that only helps in situations where new functionality is
introduced as container tags - if the new functionality is introduced as
another attribute or a non-container element, then it doesn't help much,
although the non-container tag can certainly have an ALT attribute.
I have my own thoughts about how to "extend" HTML, although it doesn't
really involve extending HTML at all... I'll make it a separate post so
it can be tracked separately from this proposal.
