If this were the case, it would be not only ambiguous, but counter-
intuitive...  For instance,

		Total\t\t11,567.95

should be formatted how?  With the Total left-justified but the
number centered on the decimal point?  And what about the language
attribute?  Comma is the decimal separator in French, not period...

No, people would make too many mistakes (or at least, incorrect
assumptions) about how the viewer should render the information.

If there is any chance of ambiguity, best require an explicit
attribute...
