XForms and mixed content

According to example:

Can we imagine to extract not only red text but also black text from an XML
instance using mixed content elements:

The beginning of the xml instance could be :

<interview>
	Interview with <guest>Noam Chomsky</guest> for The Progressive
(<date>1999</date> ) by <author>David Barsamian</author>
	...
</interview>

More generally, what is possible in XForms for mixed content elements
