Amaya crashes under Fedora Core 6

Amaya is crashing quite reliably on Fedora Core 6.

1. X Window System error:

The program 'amaya.bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 585 error_code 8 request_code 144 minor_code 3)

This seems to be the same error as reported here:

The env XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 workaround works for this one.  I'd
suggest that the Amaya install the program to use it without further
work from the user.

2. Upon quitting, when working around bug #1:

(amaya.bin:20495): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_remove: assertion
`GTK_IS_TOOLBAR (container) || widget->parent == GTK_WIDGET
(container)' failed

Gtk-ERROR **: file gtkcontainer.c: line 2447
(gtk_container_propagate_expose): assertion failed: (child->parent
== GTK_WIDGET (container))
aborting...
*** Amaya: Irrecoverable error ***Aborted (core dumped)

I have no clue what causes this.
