Point Taken,

Useless is pretty harsh.  An easy to learn screen reader can be
instructive.  I use VoiceOver on the Mac.  It's easy and has a quick
learning curve, and it's free.  My point was, of course, time spent
learning the subtleties WCAG and ARIA is more important.
