Hi all,

I just wanted to draw your attention to the Techshare 2009 Conference which is happening in London 16-18 September. This is a technology and disability conference and there are some great things on the programme in the web area. Just a few include:

* Richard Schwerdtfeger, IBM the chair of WAI-ARIA work will be a keynote speaker.
* Cynthia Waddell, International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet will be a keynote speaker

* Andrew Arch and Shadi Abou-Zahra, W3C will be presenting on the web and older people
* Henny Swan, Opera will be presenting on the mobile web
* Andrew Kirkpatrick, Adobe will be presenting on accessible RIA's with Flash, Flex and Air
* Michael Cooper, W3C will be presenting on WCAG 2.0 key concepts
* I will be presenting on standards issues across software and the web
* Brian Kelly UK Web Focus, will be presenting on web accessibility to web adaptability

There are also day pre-conference workshops on software accessibility and Web applications enabled with WCAG 2.0 and WAI-ARIA.

You can have a look at the programme and book online at: http://www.rnib.org.uk/techshare

I really hope to see some of you there!

For those of you on a budget, I have just had a special offer come through to me on the techshare mailing list:
"We have just secured an amazing deal for Techshare delegates. Book 2 days at Techshare 2009 and get 1 night accommodation (17 September) for only 20 +VAT at the Custom House Hotel near ExCeL". To receive this offer - book a 2-day delegate place using the online booking form, and enter "20 HOTEL" in the Booking Code field under the Invoice Details heading. We will then contact you to confirm your hotel booking."

Thanks
Sally
