Lisa,

  If the multi-column documents are in Word, they should convert to
PDF fine. If they are WordPerfect, the Make Accessible command in
Acrobat sometimes recognizes the columns correctly and sometimes does
not. If you want to send me a sample multi-column PDF that is not
converting properly, I'll look at it.
