MSN web site inaccessible to competing browsers

Itworld.com (written permission required for deep links++, so I can't
be more specific) has an article saying that MSN.COM was temporarily
inaccessible ("please upgrade" message) to older and non-Microsoft
browsers and will always be degraded to non-Microsoft browsers (although
they claim the degradation is a result of a failure to implement the
"latest standards for XHTML", which could be OK if the degradation
is graceful).

++ In other words they are not part of the web!
