Oh, it's worth adding that this only works with the DOM level 2 way
of doing things, with the IE Document Object Model (that is, the old
way of accessing objects) then looking for a .longdesc property of
the image object will work if document.expando=true (the default),
but it will be a case-sensitive search, and will return undefined if
the attribute is absent.
