RE: Clarification on COGA technique for Identify Purpose

Is this where someone could programmatically personalise pages with icons that help better meet the needs of user?

For instance if someone had an icon or symbol for 'help' and it could automatically be offered in a way that better suited the required concept and their language. https://globalsymbols.com/symbolsets/arasaac/symbols/14057 (This is a very very beta version of linking open Augmentative and Alternative Communication symbol sets - the search and filtering is waiting to be improved if we get more funds!)

Best wishes

Subject: Clarification on COGA technique for Identify Purpose

Hi all,

In the Examples section of the success criterion 'Identify Purpose' - it is suggested that the 'The links in the navigation of a website are marked-up so that users can add their own icons' but seems to be no steer on how this is done. [1]

Does it imply the use of some other semantic that describes the container widget of the links? Or a role for the links themselves? If native HTML semantics are not sufficient its seems to be there should be an explanation of why.

What am I missing?

Thanks
