thanks for the expansion...  it's not exactly a self-evident
abbreviation--at least, that is, to anyone outside of the field...  i
suppose W3C isn't reflexively self-evident, either, especially if none of
the equivalents for "world", "wide", and/or "web" start with a W in one's
native tongue!
