As it says on the AUWG page:

An IRC text chat (server: irc.w3.org, port: 6665, channel: #wai) is 
sometimes used by some members during the teleconferences.

The key word is "sometimes". :)

We don't usually use the channel for the AUWG call, but, if you would 
like to attend this way, please inform the group ahead of time and those 
that can will join the channel.
