Maybe this is just too difficult to do, and that is the reason I'm not  finding any prior work. ;)

There is some prior work called "science".
 E=mc^2 means there is no "Edge of the Universe 1/4 mile ahead, please creep" sign. Ontologists are trying to find the sign, but in the meantime photons will just have to imagine it's there. 
The rest of us will have to use the (199*(2/2))xQuarters+(First+Last)/2 = 100 Quarters scale:
