Hi Martin,
Registering an email address to allow you to notify users of software changes is reasonable (though you could also use RSS for that). But I'm surprised that registration has a mandatory requirement for personal details like nationality, postal address and gender. That seems both intrusive and of minimal utility - how does my nationality affect my ability to browse an online ontology? I note you have no privacy statement about what you will do with such private data, which is a legal requirement in many jurisdictions.
