It's "inline" in the pipeline so it has to have been in whatever
encoding the pipeline was in. And by the time we encounter it, the
parser must have worked that out.

I think you get whatever whitespace you get.

It's not output, it's input, so I don't think we need that one.

If you want to wrap it, put the wrapper in the inline.
