Setting up the wiki

Good evening all,

I have been thinking and consulting about wikis and infrastructure for the new XDMDL group.

In the end I decided to brush of an old Confluence Wiki that I used to use for my UK SALTIS group. The domain name has expired, so at the moment it has to be accessed using the IP address: http://178.79.136.70. And the Confluence version is a bit old - so I might be able to renew my community license and upgrade at some point.

The wiki can be viewed without being logged on - but you need to be logged on to view user profiles or edit, add or delete content.

I have sent user-names and passwords round to those of you whose emails I have got but not to Aswini S or Michael Petychakis. If you can send me your email addresses, I will send you login details.

I suggest that we should use the wiki for keeping minutes and offline chat, but that the main editing of the document should be done using Microsoft Word with Tracked Changes. I use Corel Draw for diagrams, but these can be shared using AI, SVG, or whatever people prefer.

I am finalising the first section of my straw man document and will try and post this on Tuesday - and will circulate joining instructions for the Friday call.

Come back with any questions, comments and criticisms on any of this. And thanks again for joining the group.

Best wishes,
Crispin Weston
