Indeed, I'm not debating your points - I accept that it isn't
realistically achievable in HTML/CSS :)

All the last comment was doing is pointing out that regardless of
this, people will try to achieve the same effect using JS (and already
are), and will wonder why it's not in HTML/CSS.
