Forums: what to do

Hi, everyone:

We have a critical (SSO?) bug on forums: the user is not signed in. After
signing in, the user is redirected to the main site. Going to forums again,
and the user is not signed in.

Before we go fixing this, plus another bug,[1] I wanted to confirm that
forums should still be up.

I recall we had talked about bringing it down. We have other communication
channels and project.* to get feedback.

What about shutting this down? Is there a reason to wait?
