I agree there is a lot of confusion here that is not really related to this issue. What I want is a simple working group decision on whether we're willing to change the semantics of my example from https://github.com/w3c/browser-payment-api/pull/536#issuecomment-303996517 from working to not working. More accurately, please see my "I'd like the WG to discuss and pick one of the following:"

I don't think this requires the working group to figure out how bitcoin works with payment request, or gain a better understanding of Web IDL. This is a fairly narrowly-scoped question, setting aside the the attempts to several people in this thread to blow it up into a larger discussion.
