Re: Taking the WG temperature before our scheduled call tomorrow

Hey Vlad, all,

I wanted to chat briefly abut a meeting at ATypI but we ran out of time.

I’ve spoken with Tamye about it and we can definitely get a space in which to meet; we just have to figure out what day works best.

The workshop day is the 4th, and the conference runs 5-7th. I’ll be teaching a workshop all day on the 4th so wouldn’t be able to meet during that day, but could meet on the 3rd or during the 5th-7th main part of the conference (as long as it doesn’t conflict with giving a talk as well, but I don’t have a completed schedule yet)

I know that registration and whatnot are going to be announced very shortly as well.

Not sure what the best way to manage this, but perhaps if those planning to attend ATypI could chime in on what days they think they will be there we can go from there. I think my preference would be to meet on the 3rd, but I know not everyone will be there a day early.

Jason

Part of the discussion was about collecting real life data for sets of Unicode codepoints to be used as input data for performance analysis, and Peter Muller suggested that the tools he developed earlier could be used to generate codepoints dataset from actual page walks [3].

We still do not have responses from many of the new WG participants, and including them in this poll was the main reason for re-evaluation of the current call schedule.
