Re: WAI-ACT Clarification

Hi Shadi, All,

From what you said, and from the Eval TF objective described in the work statement it is apparent that the Eval TF was created in order to provide one of the deliverables in a funded European project - WAI-ACT.

From my point of view it would have been nice to have known this fact from the very start - as it does make you feel a bit like you are self-funding work on someone else's European funded project....

It also places in context a number of discussions had on the list - and links together a number of people who share the same/similar view point. Although, until today, I did not realise that the significant relationship was funded WAI-ACT project membership...

I strongly support the choice of the W3C to run the 'open, consensus-based process' which will be used to provide the deliverable.

Having re-read the "General Policies for W3C Groups" (http://www.w3.org/2005/10/Process-20051014/policies), my worry is the effect on the W3C process of a possible over-representation in a WG TF by members of a single project (the WAI-ACT project)...

Your thoughts / comments on this matter would be welcomed...

All the best

Alistair

In a way, the WAI-ACT Project funds the Eval TF Facilitator and Editor (Eric) and Staff Contact (myself), and enables this work to happen.
