RE: proposal too add more criteria for searching tools list

Hi Shadi,

I support this in principle, but again we need a "glossary" or additional
information to help folk understand what we mean by some of the terms (e.g.
some EO folk won't understand some of this).

The "Accessing File" category is good, but we need to include something like
"single page only" to differentiate from "multiple pages". I'm sure this
category (or similar) came up in early discussions, but we discarded as too
difficult to classify the tools and we decided to keep it simpler for now.

Also, seems like "Classification" is a bit of a catch-all - is its purpose
to recreate the categories we have in the current list?

Cheers, Andrew

Subject: proposal too add more criteria for searching tools list

Hi,

In an offline discussion, Carlos Iglesias proposes to add the following
criteria to the (draft) "Advanced Search" option of the searchable list of
evaluation tools [1].

"API Integration" section with:
  - Java
  - .NET

"Accessing Files" section with:
  - Multiple pages
  - Proxy support
  - Restricted pages
  - Remote files
  - Local files

"Classification" section with:
  - General
  - Focused
  - Services
  - Extensions
  - Plugins

...and finally, "Customizable Checks" to the "Guidelines" section.

I'd like to get the opinion of ERT WG during today's teleconference call,
before sending this as a group proposal to EOWG.

Regards,
  Shadi
