Anniversaries task force meeting 23 August

Hello all,

Just a reminder that we have another Anniversaries task force meeting
tomorrow, 23 August, at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Call in details: 617 761 6200, Code 2668#

IRC channel is #ANNIV

Last week we heard presentations and reviewed logo concepts from three
designers hired by Intel. Here are meeting minutes (although I've heard the
ACLS might be preventing non-team members from accessing them; perhaps Ian
can help me reset them).

As a follow-up to those presentations and at the request of the task force,
Troy asked Chuck from Illusio of Portland, Oregon to expand his W3C logo
treatment to show options for the Web at 25 and how the two logos would be
combined. Troy forwarded this addendum yesterday to this list (see
attachment).

Tomorrow's agenda includes a review of these new designs and final
determination of which designer to choose for final logo and design
treatments. Note that Troy Allison is leaving on sabbatical tomorrow
(sometime AFTER our call J) and Jim Curry will transition to the task force
from Intel. Troy would like our design choice tomorrow so that decision and
contract is set before he leaves (which is best for both him and us)!

Suggest Agenda

Although everyone is invited to provide updates, I do have some insight into
what some topics might be, so I'm adding them here:

. Updates (All)

o Welcome and introduction of Intel's Jim Curry (if he's able to join this
call)

o Web at 25 task force project management (W3C-Marilyn and Ian/Web
Foundation-Dillon)

o Discussion with Internet Association about how to participate
(Google-Jess)

o Webbys (W3C-Ian)

. Illusio logo design discussion

. Designer selection and next steps

. Birthday celebration ideas presentation shared at a previous task
force meeting (Google-Jesse)

. Farewell to Troy!

I'm not anticipating holding a task force meeting next Friday leading into
the US holiday weekend, but instead will pick up again on 6 September.

Best,

Marilyn
