The upcoming GoodRelations integration will provide generically usable validFrom and validThrough properties, so I recommend to reuse those, either by expanding the domain of the properties to include JobPosting or Thing, or, better, to fix the JobPosting model in schema.org so that it is integrated with the GoodRelations model, because a job posting is demand for a resource.
