FYI: eponymous Working Group extended for maintenance

Hi Spatial Data on the Web IG participants,

A long time ago [1], I mentioned that we'd have to keep the Spatial Data on the Web *Working Group* alive because our Process requires the presence of a Working Group to publish errata on a spec. The announcement of the charter extension for the Working Group had somehow fallen through the cracks though. Now fixed with today's announcement that some of you may have seen [2].

As said in the referenced documents above, the maintenance of published Recommendations is in the hands of the Interest Group in practice. We just need the Working Group around to be able to perform maintenance actions. In other words, you may safely ignore the announcement, it does not change anything.

The new W3C Process, to be published in 2018, should fix the problem, meaning we should be able to close the Working Group after April 2018 for good, and let the *Interest Group* do the maintenance work on its own like a grown-up...

Thanks,
Francois.
