Re: DRM in HTML5 A Betrayal of Public Trust

I think it could be even better if they'd do it out of the web.

I hate DRM, specially this form of DRM that pretends to control my own computer.
My computer is my own. It runs with the electricity I pay for and so
on. So why should I allow anybody
the power to control my computer? I rely on free software and there's
no way I'm going to accept a
company or content-owner, with a privative software I cannot read to
make sure it makes what it's supposed
to do, to exert power over my personal computer.

As much as I hate Digital Restrictions Management, I wouldn't be
against server side DRM. So create your
own server side platform and deliver the content you want.

Javascript was created to ease the user interaction with the website.
But more and more, it's turning into
something to control the user. EME is again forcing JS into
controlling users. I'm against the whole thing.

I don't work for a member, but I have to represent here the people
that doesn't understand how things work.
People that isn't aware that what is happening here is of outmost
importance for them. The W3C should hear
their voices too.

Best regards :)
